HISTORIA

Emo es una subcultura o tribu urbana que tuvo sus orígenes a mediados de la década de 1980 en Estados Unidos, más precisamente en Washington D. C., como una cultura creada en torno al género musical emo, subgénero del estilo hardcore punk y una estética particular.

Los jóvenes emos del siglo XXI persiguen una actitud y filosofía crítica de la sociedad centrada en la emociones (dolor, rabia, desgano e insatisfacción) y que encuentra semejanzas con los punkys en la rebeldía y la necesidad de trillar las calles y sentirse urbanos. La tristeza que los caracteriza suele quedar de lado cuando de una fiesta se trata, allí sacan a relucir su sarcásticos e irónico humor.

CARACTERÍSTICAS DE LOS EMOS:

• Les gusta usar piercings y tatuajes.
• La ropa oscura es la preferida; pero también usan mucho el rosado.
• Siempre usan accesorios: brazaletes, correas gruesas, collares, etc.
• Existen emos que a oscuras se cortan la piel, como muestra de descontento con el mundo que los rodea.
• Fantasean con el suicidio.
• Algunas parejas de “emos” tienen los mismos cortes en el cuerpo. Tratan siempre de llevar las mismas marcas.
• Algunos suben vídeos a Internet, donde aparecen cortándose los brazos (en YouTube hay decenas, aunque a veces los borran).
• Suelen usar muy a menudo las siguiente frases (lo saben de memoria): “la vida es un tormento”, “déjame hacer lo que quiero”, “Dios no existe, todo es sufrimiento”, “¿porqué tuve que nacer?”, “haz lo que quieras, con quien quieras, donde quieras, sin importar lo que digan tus padres”.
• Estar extremadamente delgado es sinónimo de la vida que quieren llevar (sin sentido y muy sufrida). Si una persona quiere ser emo, tiene que cumplir el requisito de ser delgado a cualquier precio, de lo contrario podría ser rechazado por su comunidad, y son llamados “casposos” o “lámparas”.
• Deben tener la mayor estatura posible. Si es bajo de estatura, tiene que usar plataformas.
• Tratan de que siempre el pelo les cubra la cara. No les gusta ser vistos. Dicen que esto significa que su existencia es sombría y triste.
• Están acostumbrados a que sus habitaciones tengan poca luz.
• Tienen como símbolos a las calaveras, corazones rotos y cualquier cosa de color rosado (estrellas, lunas, fuego, etc.).
• Las parejas también deben ser emo, con la finalidad de compartir el dolor en todo momento. Si el emo varón llora, la emo novia también debe llorar.
• Los hombres y mujeres se visten casi iguales, al punto de no saber quién es el hombre y quién la mujer.

Antiguamente la sociedad no aceptaba a los emos hoy en día ya son un poco aceptados por la sociedad los emos son personas iguales a los demás solo que su forma de ser es diferente y piensan diferente pero esto no significa que los deberíamos rechazar debemos de aceptarlos tal y como son.
